3. Go to the Arizona Department of Real Estate website at: www.re.state.az.us. Check on the realtor you are considering and find out where they work, make sure their license is up to date and that they have no disciplinary actions against them.

4. Find a realtor that specializes in the area you want to live in. Phoenix is the 5th largest city in the United States. Arizona Real Estate consultants tend to specialize in certain areas such as the east valley, west valley or central phoenix, so look for a realtor who is familiar with the city you want to move to.

5. Never underestimate a friend’s referral. If you know someone in Arizona, find out who they used when they were looking for a home. Recommendations are your best resource and can be instrumental in finding a realtor you are compatible with.

6. Check out their website. Look at their current listings, testimonials and if they have a record of gaining knowledge in the field.

7. Ultimately, trust your gut. Once you have talked to a variety of realtors, trust your instincts. If you suddenly “click” with a certain Arizona real estate consultant, then most likely, that’s the person you should choose.
